The
History of Kent County is a document which was prepared in 1974
by the firm Gauthier, Poulin, Thériault and Associates.
Kent
County was first inhabited by the Micmac Indians. Their nation
was composed of the Malecite, the Passamaquoddy, the Penobscot,
the Abenaki and Womenak tribes who spoke the Algonquin language.
Natives of the Eastern woodlands for the most part, led a nomadic
life wandering through woods and rivers from the southern bank
of the St. Lawrence to the New England States. Complete
