At the National Assumption
Monument, Rogersville reveres Mary as the special patron of Acadie, welcoming
visitors at an elegant wooden shrine. Each year a public novena leads
to the Feast Day of the Assumption, on August 15th, the Acadian National
Day.
August also marks the
community's summer celebration, the Brussels Sprouts Festival.
Rogersville is a peaceful
village where two cloistered religious orders have taken root. Trappist
monks and Trappistine nuns have both established monasteries, offering
serene retreats for spiritual seekers.
