A
typical Acadian village, Saint-Louis-de-Kent was founded in 1797.
Hospitable traditions have persisted in this picturesque environment
and visitors can take advantage of modern tennis courts and an indoor
public swimming pool, as well as a variety of boat outings being
offered. Festival Kagibouguette, in August, gives villagers and
visitors a chance to kick their heels.
Taking a moment
for devotions, drop in for a short visit at the 1878 grotto to "Our
Lady of Lourdes". The shrine is appropriately situated on the shore
of Kouchibouquac River which adds its own flowing voice to the peaceful
atmosphere.
